8/31 - 1st-5th GRADE PARENT/GUARDIAN Q&A WITH PRINCIPAL TEAM:
This is an informal opportunity for adults to gather and and ask questions about distance learning.

9/1 - DEVICE PICK UP EVENT:
If you were not able to pick up a device this week or you have a broken device to exchange, please come to this device pick up event. We have brand new Chromebooks for 2-5th grade students. If you still have an older device from last year, bring it on this day and exchange it for a brand new one. 

K-1st grade students, your iPads have still not arrived. If you need a device for the first few weeks of school you may pick up a Chromebook on this day too.

9/3, 9/4 and 9/8 - FAMILY CONNECTIONS CONFERENCES:
Your child’s teacher will contact you to schedule a conference for you and your students some time the week of Sept 3. The purpose of this conference is to get to you know and your family better and for you to meet the teacher. You will also learn your child’s specific schedule for distance learning. 

9/3 - OPTIONAL LEARNING SUPPLIES PACK PICK UP FOR FAMILIES IN NEED:
If you are unable to purchase school supplies for distance learning, Highline School District we will be traveling to select bus stops to hand out bags of school supplies provided by the Highline Schools Foundation. Backpacks will not be provided this year, as resources have been directed to supporting students and families with groceries and other necessities.

The bags will contain school supplies for either elementary or secondary students. They will contain items such as spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons and other school supplies.

9/9 – FIRST DAY OF DISTANCE LEARNING
Once you receive your student’s schedule you will notice that Wednesdays are a little different than the schedule for the others days each week. Our first day of
school is on a Wednesday so please carefully review the schedule and know your students day will look different on the 2nd day of school. 

9/14 & 9/15 - REQUIRED MARVISTA DISTANCE LEARNING KIT PICKUP FOR ALL STUDENTS
Different from the event above, Highline School District and Marvista Elementary will be providing grade specific distance learning material to ALL STUDENTS.  This will include things like math workbooks, etc. This will be a drive-up event in the Marvista Parking Lot on the dates below:

1. Sept 14
10:00-12:00 or 4:00-6:00

2. Sept 15 
10:00-12:00 or 4:00-6:00

Please be sure to look for an email from me each week and one from your child’s teacher. These two emails will include important information you and your child need for each week of distance learning.
