Marvista Family Message for September 9

Marvista Family Message for September 9

Greetings Marvista Families,

Our students and staff have successfully completed the first four-day week of the school year and we welcomed our newest learners, our Marvista Kindergartners!  Each day was full of important and engaging classroom learning, active recesses, and social lunches. It is exciting to be back! Thank you to our teachers and support staff who are working so hard to create inclusive environments all across our school.

As I mentioned in our welcome back message, student safety is at the forefront of every decision we make.  We work tirelessly to help everyone feel comfortable and safe, while complying with guidance from our district leaders, including our security department, and the health department.

  • All exterior doors are locked at Marvista. To access our building during school hours, you will need to walk up to the west facing main office doors and call our office number at 206-631-4200.  Be prepared to identify yourself and your reason for coming into our school.  Our amazing office staff will then meet you at the door to let you in. If you are running late or have an appointment, please prepare to park and walk your child into our office. Our amazing office staff manage the opening of the door. Because of this, it may be possible that you see students, staff, or other community members walk by the door as you wait to be greeted.  Please know that you are not being ignored and that our office staff will take your phone call, meet you at the door, and let you into the building.
  • If your child is experiencing ANY COVID symptoms, we require that you keep them home and call our office for consultation on when they can safely return to school. COVID symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  • If a student or staff member exhibits any COVID symptoms at school, they will go home immediately.  If they test positive for the virus, we will inform the community through email that there was a case on our campus. The information will include the date of possible exposure and a link to our district COVID Dashboard.

Thank you for all that you have done and for all that you continue to do to support our students and our school community.  If you have any questions, you are always welcome to call our main office at 206-631-4200.  Our amazing team will work to connect you with the appropriate support staff.
