The snowy, slippery, soggy season is officially upon us! Sprinkled throughout this message are links to the Highline School District website that will provide you with information revolving around:
- Communication to families about inclement weather and emergencies
- Alternate bus routes
Communication:
In the event of a snowstorm, windstorm, earthquake, threat to campus or other emergency event, Highline Public Schools will implement safety procedures and may change school start or dismissal times for student safety.
Here are the ways we communicate emergency information:
- Email notifications. Please provide the school with your current email address.
- Automated phone calls and text messages. Please provide your school with current telephone numbers to reach you and other emergency contacts.
- Announcements on district and school websites.
- Announcements on social media. Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
- Announcements on TV and radio.
Classes for students will begin one or two hours later than normal but will dismiss at the regular time.

Alternate Bus Routes:
If the weather raises safety concerns, but all schools are open, alternate bus stop routes will be utilized to help work around the weather and road conditions. If your stop is not listed, then the regular bus stop will be used.
