Family Message - Device pick up on 3/31

Greetings Marvista Families,

We hope that you are all doing well and staying healthy.  As you may know, the state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has changed its position on educational services during our school closure. The new guidance is that education must continue during this unprecedented time. The district is working on a plan for distance learning and the first step is working with our schools and families to ensure that students who need devices get them.

If you are in need of a device, Chromebooks will be available for pick up on at Marvista on Tuesday, March 31 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Our staff has been working to develop a distribution process that is streamlined and adheres to social distancing protocols.  If you plan to come to Marvista to pick up a Chromebook on Tuesday, we have included some important information below:

  • Arrive in the main parking between 9:00 a.m. and noon.
  • Stay in your car and follow the signage to the first checkpoint to confirm that you are a Marvista family and to receive important handouts.
  • Pull forward to the second checkpoint to receive a Chromebook and checkout paperwork. One Chromebook will be distributed per household.
  • The Chromebooks are available for families that are in need of a device to access online learning. If you have already have device for your student(s) to use during the school closure, then you do not need to check one out from the school.  Devices could include, Chromebooks, iPads, desktop and laptop computers.

Additionally, we are committed to providing our families quality online and community resources.  Attached to this message is a resource guide.  We hope you find it helpful.  We have also included a link below to King County Library to access digital books.

We appreciate your patience as we adjust and readjust to the shifting circumstances. Our teachers and support staff are excited to continue to connect with you and your children.  We miss you all!  More information will be out in the coming days regarding online learning.  We will work hard to keep you all informed as quickly as we can.

Take Care,
