Communication with Families

Email, texts and the Marvista webpage are our primary means of communicating to parents.

Our Marvista PTSA also maintains a website with current and important information. The Marvista PTSA also uses Facebook to share timely news and updates on what is going on - please join Marvista Elementary PTSA if you use Facebook.

It is critically important to ensure your email address is correct. Families can update this along with other information on their ParentVUE account. If you need your activation code to open your account, you need to request that code from the office. You may also receive communication from the school in the form of pre-recorded phone messages, bulk email messages, text messages to your cellular phone and hard copy letters in the mail.

Office Hours are 8:30-4:00 PM

Our phone number is 206-631-4200. The voicemail system will be on at all other times. For late buses, you can check with the office until 4:00 PM. After that, please contact Transportation directly at 206-631-7502.

School Telephone use

The office telephone is a business phone; therefore, student’s use will be limited to emergencies. Students will NOT be allowed to call home to see if they can go to a friend’s house after school or for similar types of reasons.  These types of activities are to be arranged at home. A child will not be allowed to call home for forgotten items i.e. homework, band instruments, lunch etc. Cell phones are not permitted before, during or after school when on school grounds unless students need to call parents to arrange transportation. They may be placed in backpacks, turned off.

Teacher Communication

Your teachers are eager to communicate with you. Teachers may be reached via email or by calling the office during school hours. Keep in mind that during instructional time, the office staff will take a message or direct you to the teacher’s voice mailbox and the teacher will call you back at their earliest convenience. All staff members have an email address, see the Staff Directory for their information.
